We as Software engineers are called Professionals , an important characteristics of a Professional as follows
"A high standard of professional ethics, behavior and work activities while carrying out one's profession".
If its expected to be built in character, why do we need the following policies in all our organizations "Sexual harrasment policy" and Backgroud Verification , most funny part is the back ground verification happens even at your schools after verifying colleges : -) more funny right? are colleges mad to give seats to those who have not completed school :-) are we verifying against colleges or what?
And most read policies in organization would be sexual harrasment if i am not wrong :-)
But we are the people who talk most about Polictial problems , infrastructure problems, since its affecting us to drive (atleast two cars for a family) , affecting CEO from US to drive in India on time etc., How many as Software engineers are part of the CSR initiatives taken by companies? and How many companies reveal the details of CSR activities to the employees?
But we are called professionals (Ya .. I also claim as Profressional you know...) and we dont vote (I got voters card only last year I voted this time :-), see how responsible i am, after 15 years of voting eligibility i voted for first time, oh my god i reveled my age here :-), thats fine I never crossed 27 till now, always 27 :-years young.)) , we will keep working infront of the so called machine or plan for a vacation for the Election holiday.
We fix bugs in the the Java , C++ code, who will fix the bug in "Human software"? should we need another "Human Engineer" ?
Are we addicted to the so called Machine? Probably yes, so far with PC and now with so called mobile or gadgets. you see I am also making money out of this Addiction :-) by running a Software company to develop software for Mobiles . Funny isnt it?
